Thursday, 6th August 2020 is the second day of the HUMIC Online Workshop held by the Human Centric (HUMIC) Engineering Research Center Telkom University with topic raised was “How to Passing a Research Grant”. The event was opened by the host Febri Dawani and attended by 371 participants from the 1086 registrant. The participants consist of lecturers, researchers, students, and others from various institutions with different focus areas all around Indonesia.

Prof. Ismunandar was a speaker on the second day. He is the Menristek Expert Staff of the Minister of Research and Technology, General Director of Belmawa (2018-2020). In this workshop, he explained how to write a good research proposal.

He explained that in order for a proposal to be considered good, several things must be considered, such as:
- Research topics that are consistent with the research road map.
- Has information, primary, secondary, and tertiary information related to the theme.
- Keep up with the latest developments in the theme.
- Look at the GAP (some are not clear, don’t seem to fit the existing theory, etc.).
- Adjusted to competence, cost, time, facilities, and infrastructure.

After 60 minutes presentation, the moderator assisted the questions and answers. Prof. Ismunandar answered the questions one by one very clearly until the break. During the break time, a video from Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) as our main sponsor for this event is played for 15 minutes. The next session was a discussion about the proposals sent by workshop participants. Prof. Ismunandar explained in detail how to do a good and correct proposal. 90 minutes had passed and the next session was the closing speech from the Vice-Rector.
Dr. Ir. Rina Pudji Astuti, M.T. (Telkom University Vice-Rector) gave the closing speech for the HUMIC Online Workshop. She closed the event by praying together and hoping that the knowledge that had been given by the speaker would be useful.

After a closing speech by Vice-Rector of Telkom University, the event was closed by taking a group photo via Zoom Conference Room. We hope this event could give new insight and knowledge for participants, especially those who want to write a good research proposal.
Besides, after the workshop was over, we also gave door prizes to the first two participants who were lucky to have their proposals examined directly by Prof. Ismunandar. The main prize is a top-up the balance of IDR 50,000 for both participants.
